Accessing Asset Pages Using Beam Lens

Beam Lens makes accessing a technology asset's information easier while you are in the field. Using the app, you can pull up and edit an asset's information page simply by scanning the asset's barcode.

In this tutorial, we will teach you how to use Beam Lens, but before you get started, make sure you meet the following requirements:

  1. App Installation: Install the Beam Lens app on your phone. It is available on the Play Store and App Store
  2. Beam Account: Ensure you have an active Beam account.
  3. Barcode-equipped Assets: All assets within your Beam setup should have associated barcode values. If you haven't set barcode values for your assets yet, read our tutorial on Assigning barcode values to your assets.

Instructions

1. Open Beam Lens.

If the value in the box matches what's on the barcode, press Confirm. If the values do not match, press Cancel and try scanning again.

4. If you’re using the app for the first time, after you hit continue, the app will prompt you to login to Beam.
