Ever since we started Beam, there has been one feature request that has come up in almost every conversation we have had with customers: reservations. People want to use Beam to manage their resources, and today, we are finally delivering on that promise. The Beam Reservations module gives you the ability to manage your assets, people, and locations in a single easy to use interface with deep integrations with asset history, ticketing and inventory management; And as with all of our new modules, we've baked in the quintessential Beam flexibility so that our product adjusts to your workflow rather than the other way around.
What is the Reservations Module
With Reservations we took a holistic approach to resource management. Rather than centering our module around a specific resource type, we built Reservations to handle it all. Beam gives you the ability to manage bookings for assets, people and locations in a single easy-to-use interface.
Why Use Beam Reservations
Reservations benefits from its interconnectedness with the rest of the Beam suite. Every reservation is linked to relevant assets from your inventory. Stakeholders working on a project have easy access to the configs, manuals and specs they need to get the job done.
[Need an image to convey that reservations are connected with assets, bulk items, people. Can maybe use something similar to what we have on the house of worship page but it needs to be rectangular and not specific to houses of worship]
Additionally, Reservations is equipped with the same configurability that makes the rest of Beam so useful. When talking to customers, the biggest complaint we heard about their existing reservations systems is lack of flexibility. Legacy reservations systems are highly prescriptive in the way that they expect users to behave. They are built for a very specific workflow and cannot accommodate changes well. This modus operandi is at odds with how production teams work.
As organizations grow so does their inventory, and with that growth comes the need for process changes. That's why we built Beam's reservation system to be fully configurable. Like with tickets, assets and purchases, you have the ability to configure fields, and statuses for reservations to meet the needs of your team's workflows.
